The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Party

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline including angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.

At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing started the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.

Casimir then settled his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each character has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
  • Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could help the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and The cleric turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by the clan.

This results in them little choice but to travel to the northern region in quest for Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

From episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Explorers and Strategists parties.

Audiences can look forward to learning which players will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
